lyrics

Gathering Storm

As I walked out late last night
I felt the gathering storm
I knew right then that I shouldn't fight
so I just did my best to keep warm
the sky it darkened overhead
and I fell down on my knees
while everybody just walked on by
oblivious to my pleas

Then the clouds they opened up
and the sky poured down its rain
and I lay there in the village square
and said "Oh no it's happening again"
but after a while the rain it stopped
and the stars replaced the storm
and I walked back to where I came
a place I knew I'd be warm

So now you know just what to do
when you're faced with a gathering storm
there's no need to scream or shout
you just do your best to keep warm
cause the storm it now approaches
although the skies remain clear
so button up your overcoats
as the final winter draws near
